The Grand Hotel in Fairhope

I don’t mind giving a review on a trip / location that definitely is impressive!  I have been to Fairhope on several occasions and have even stayed at the Grand Hotel before which is Wonderful but this time it is worth mentioning again!!!  For those that have never been to Fairhope, AL let me just say that the part of the city by the bay provides a charming quaint atmosphere where it is easy to forget your troubles.  There are small boutique type shops and small independently owned eateries covering several blocks.  A quick bike ride several blocks over is the pier which offers a seafood  restaurant and a beach.  Everyone greets you warmly which reminds me of the South I grew up in.  The largest hotel in the area is the Grand Hotel.  The Grand has quite a history to it dating back to the 1840’s.  From being used by the military and acting as a hospital to being one of the prime vacation spots for the wealthy Victorian Era families.  The Grand Hotel is located just a few miles from Fairhope in the small town of Point Clear. The hotel overlooks Mobile Bay and is now run by Marriott Hotels.  Besides having beautiful grounds and awesome scenery, the staff of the Grand is unprecedented in being courteous and accommodating.  We went to one of their restaurants called the Saltwater Grill and the staff was very welcoming and wanted to make sure all of our needs were met.  The waitress (Theresa) that our group had was excellent in explaining the entrée choices and because of her exquisite way of describing the food almost all of us were convinced to choose the recommendations she gave.  And I will say none of us could have tasted anything better or presented more perfectly!! The food (including dessert) was Awesome!!! If you ever get the chance to visit The Grand don’t think twice about this hotel, you will not regret having eaten or stayed at The Grand!!!    …. On a side note we enjoyed the Airmoji which ran the Autumn Elegance pod……loveeeee the fall!!!
